the lull.

After we had sorted out Visa’s and flights we didn’t really do much for a while, we told family and friends that we were leaving and I made tons of lists of stuff that needed doing, places to travel while we were out there and other bits and pieces we wanted to do, I had about ten A4 sheets filled with spider diagrams and bullet points. I have serious organisation issues!

I looked at a few hostels in Melbourne, mainly in the CBD, St Kilda and similar places, we just wanted something cheap with a lot going on so we’d have the chance to meet new people and get some good tips from other travellers! My number one go to website is always I’ve always used it and it’s the best for comparisons etc. We booked a private double room at Flinders Station Hostel right in the city centre, it looks clean, welcoming and there’s a bar, what more could you want! The best part is the 10% deposit and then the rest of the payment being due on check in, helps with my saving, which isn’t going too well!

We also planned a leaving do for a couple of weeks time at a family members pub, alcohol and the people you love, what more could you want!
